Once upon a time there was a reconciler who worked in OmegaT. The reconciler had to combine two given versions from two independent translators to produce the best possible (reconciled) tranlation. Sometimes one of the two translations was good, and the other was bad, therefore the choice was clear. Other times, the first translation was bad, but the second was good, so the choice was also clear. Even if the basis was a good translation, some edits were at times still necessary. And yet other times, the first translation had a part that was good, but the other part was better in the second translation, or vice versa, so they had to be combined.
